Overview of Rock Drilling Equipment Manufacturing Companies Worldwide - Furukawa Company, Japan

Furukawa Company, established in 1875, primarily produces construction equipment such as rock drilling machines. In 1914, it successfully developed Japan's first rock drilling machine, establishing its position as a leader in the production, development, and design of rock drilling machines. As a century-old enterprise, in addition to its commitment to the machinery sector, it is also involved in industries such as non-ferrous metals, electronic materials, chemical raw materials, and fuels. Furukawa has two factories in Japan, located in Takasaki and Yoshii, mainly producing hydraulic trolleys, hydraulic surface drilling machines, and hydraulic breaking heads.

Furukawa's rock drilling trolleys occupy 80% of the domestic market in Japan. Based on the characteristics of the Chinese market and mining conditions, two models of underground rock drilling trolleys, T1AM and T2AM, have been developed for the Chinese market, equipped with the HD220 hydraulic rock drill with an impact power of 20kw.

Taking the Chinese region as an example, Furukawa equipment is mainly used in large hydropower construction projects and railway tunnel engineering. From major projects such as the Lubuge Hydropower Station, Manwan Hydropower Station, and Tian Sheng Qiao levels one and two, to the Dazhaoshan, Dongfeng, Baozhusi, Hongjiadu, Pubugou, Tianhuangping, Gongboxia, Three Gorges, Longtan Hydropower Station, Xiaowan Hydropower Station, and the Baise Hub Project, as well as national key projects like the Shiziyan Tunnel on the Xikang Line and the Songhe Tunnel on the Shuiba Line, Furukawa equipment has played an important role.
