The construction of underground metal mines in China mainly relies on the drilling and blasting method. In recent years, with the advancement and development of non-destructive mechanized tunneling technology and equipment, reverse shaft drilling machines have begun to be applied in some large underground metal mines. The use of shaft drilling machines in the excavation of underground metal mine shafts has a series of advantages, including fast excavation speed, low labor intensity, preservation of the original integrity and stability of the rock in the shaft, round shaft wall, good shaft quality, and favorable ground pressure control. It is an advanced construction method for shaft excavation in underground mines. In our country, with the technological progress in the mining industry, the reverse shaft drilling process will gradually replace the drilling and blasting method in shaft excavation construction.

The rock drilling bit of the shaft drilling tool is a rolling scraping head embedded with hard alloy teeth.(See Figure2)and the support frame, with a drilling diameter range of500～6000mm.Currently, the common diameters of shaft drilling bits in the international market are mainly1800mm, 3100mm, 4000mm.etc.(As shown in Figure3, Figure4,Figure5shown..China has various models of shaft drilling machines in underground mines for non-ferrous metals, metallurgy, coal, gold, building materials, and chemicals.100The diameter of the bits used ranges from500～2500mm,with an annual drilling length of about70,000mcurrently in the stage of promoting the application of reverse shaft rock drilling technology.
