“Racing in abandoned mines is so thrilling!” many participants exclaimed. On June 17, 2019, the 2019 Liaoning Fuxin China Auto Off-Road Championship (COC) successfully concluded at the Fuxin Century Race City, attracting tens of thousands of spectators.

Once, the first shovel of coal in the Fuxin mining area was dug here. Now, the coal transportation road of that year has been transformed into a racetrack, hosting thrilling events time and again. In the Jizhou mining environmental governance project, China Nonferrous Metal Industry's Environmental Protection Co., Ltd. breaks traditional governance ideas, fully integrating mining environmental governance with urban landscape effects, land use, and urban functional zoning, beautifying the mining ecological environment, creating urban attractions, guiding consumption trends, increasing added value, and achieving rapid land appreciation, serving as a promotional demonstration across the country. The project covers a total area of 10.2 square kilometers, with a total investment of 2 billion yuan, divided into three phases. The first phase is the environmental governance of the Xishi Mine. The original mining area has numerous air defense caves, and the staff fully integrates the planning and design ideas with the original terrain and landforms. After thoroughly managing the air defense caves, the abandoned mine is transformed into a wine-themed town and a mining pit hotel, creating a high-end cultural tourism industry. The second phase involves the environmental governance of the southern and northern areas of Daxingyu. This area has a large surface area of mountain scars, steep slopes, complex terrain conditions, and serious geological safety hazards, and the mining area is located in the city center. Based on its advantageous geographical location, the staff designs the northern mining area of Daxingyu as an urban green park, providing residents with leisure and entertainment spaces; utilizing the original mining pit of the southern mining area, it is transformed into a construction waste backfill site. The third phase includes the environmental governance of the Laohuding and Donghouziyu mining areas. Mining governance can not only reclaim and ecologically rebuild the land that has been damaged and abandoned due to mining, restoring its production function, but also organize some developable land, driving the development of surrounding plots while realizing its own land value, alleviating urban land pressure to a certain extent. After the governance of the Laohuding mining area is completed, the local government sells the land at a price of 5 million yuan per mu, which is 50 times the value before governance. The Donghouziyu project draws on advanced urbanization experiences from the UK, with ecological restoration of the mine as the core, planning to build an 'Eden indoor theme park' themed around characteristic plants and water systems, and developing a characteristic town in conjunction with cultural tourism resources.

Baisha Village in Wu'an, Hebei, relies on building materials mining as its pillar industry, with a mining area destruction of approximately 1.55 square kilometers, and mining roads winding through the mountains, with the original hydrological system also damaged. Although Baisha Village has significant transportation advantages, good natural resources, and unique cultural resources, it lacks supporting services for high-end tourism products. China Nonferrous Metal Industry's Environmental Protection Co., Ltd. helps Baisha Village, which relies on resource-based collective economy, achieve economic transformation through a combination of planning, design, and governance, becoming the 'New Baisha' in the post-mining era with coordinated planning of mountains, rocks, forests, and fields.

In March 2019, the consortium won the bid for the EPC general contracting project of the ecological environment governance project in the core area of the Racing Town in XinQiu District, Fuxin City, with a total bid amount of 245 million yuan. Currently, the Fuxin Century Racing City project, which uses the racing track as a carrier and automotive events as the core, operates under the model of 'designing, governing, constructing, and operating simultaneously,' relying on advanced operational management capabilities and solid technical support, has successfully held 7 racing events, receiving over 200,000 spectators, writing a brilliant chapter for the transformation of resource-depleted cities.
