What is a threaded drill rod?

Threaded drill rods (also known as hydraulic drill rods/hydraulic drill pipes, heavy-duty drill rods/heavy-duty drill pipes, trolley drill rods/trolley drill pipes, large diameter threaded drill rods are also referred to as drill tubes, guide drill tubes. The English term for threaded drill rods is "drill rods," and for drill tubes, it is "drill tubes") are generally used with hydraulic rock drilling trolleys and hydraulic rock drilling machines for drilling blasting holes, anchor holes, or as guide rods. A small portion is also compatible with pneumatic rock drilling equipment, such as 90 drill rigs, vertical drilling machines, etc. During the operation of hydraulic rock drilling trolleys and drilling machines, the drill tool assembly, composed of the drill bit, drill rod, connecting sleeve, and drill tail, transmits the impact energy of the hydraulic rock drill, with the drill bit directly performing the rock drilling operation. The drill rod is a crucial component in the drill tool assembly that experiences complex forces and has stringent requirements for quality and performance. According to the supporting equipment and application fields, threaded drill rods can be classified into those used for underground mining drilling, medium to deep space mining drilling, underground anchoring drilling, tunnel engineering excavation and anchoring, and open-pit mining, quarrying, and open-pit engineering drilling.
