The green channel has been opened, and two newly built large-scale iron mines in the country have obtained mining licenses!

Recently, according to relevant media reports, the Liaoning Provincial Department of Natural Resources has taken measures to ensure the safety of mineral resources by coordinating with the people's governments of various cities and counties and relevant departments, adopting a mechanism of accepting applications with deficiencies, parallel reviews, and joint processing. In the shortest time, mining licenses were issued for the two newly built large-scale iron mines in Xian Mountain and Chentai Gou..

It is reported that after reaching production capacity, the production scale of the two iron mines will reach41 million tons/year, which is of great significance for improving the self-sufficiency rate of iron ore in Liaoning Province and ensuring the safety of the national iron ore supply chain.

The Xian Mountain Iron Mine is located 7 kilometers southwest of Qianshan District in Anshan. With proven reserves of 1.3 billion tons, it is currently the largest undeveloped resource reserve and the best-endowed single iron mine in the country. At the end of December 2021, the joint mining project of Xian Mountain Iron Mine entered the physical advancement stage. It is reported that the total investment in this project will exceed 20 billion yuan, with a designed annual production of 30 million tons of iron ore and 10.2284 million tons of iron concentrate.
The Xian Mountain Iron Mine belongs to Ansteel Group Mining Company. In 1999, Anshan City issued the "Opinions on Strengthening the Protection of Natural Landscape in Xian Mountain," successively closing several silicon stone and iron mines. In August 2004, the mining rights of the remaining four iron mines in Xian Mountain were all transferred to Ansteel Group Mining Company.

The Chentai Gou Iron Mine is located 11 kilometers northeast of Anshan City.It has a large iron ore deposit with reserves of 1.274 billion tons, an iron grade of 34.40%, and a designed annual production of 11 million tons of iron ore, making it one of the large black underground deep well mines in the country.
The Chentai Gou Iron Mine is a major investment project of the WISCO Mining Group. In 2012, WISCO Group paid the full mineral rights compensation of 680 million yuan and obtained the exploration rights certificate. On October 16, 2017, the groundbreaking ceremony for the exploration well project of Chentai Gou Iron Mine was held, marking the official construction phase of the Chentai Gou Iron Mine project.

According to relevant media reports, since the Liaoning Provincial Department of Natural Resources fully launched the "green channel" for the approval of strategic mineral resources such as iron ore in 2019, it has successively processed the mining rights renewal procedures for large and super-large old iron mines such as Qidashan, Donganshan, Dagushan, and Gongchangling open-pit and underground mines. , and has processed the expansion and increase of reserves and production procedures for old mines such as Nanfan, Waitoushan, and Jiajia Fortress. It can be said that in terms of "improving the guarantee capacity of domestic iron ore resources," Liaoning, as the "big brother" of iron ore in China, has indeed put in a lot of effort! At the beginning of this year, the China Iron and Steel Association submitted a proposal on implementing the "Cornerstone Plan" to enhance the guarantee capacity of iron and steel resources in China, proposing to change the composition of iron resource sources in China within 2-3 "five-year plans" to fundamentally solve the resource shortcoming problem in the steel industry chain. Among them, the development of domestic iron ore resources is an important part of the "Cornerstone Plan".
According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics,in July 2022, China's iron ore production was 80.227 million tons, a decrease of 18.7% month-on-month and a decrease of 3.5% year-on-year. Cumulatively, from January to July 2022, China's cumulative iron ore production reached 572.318 million tons, a cumulative decrease of 3.3%.
In terms of imported ore, according to statistics from the General Administration of Customs of China,in July 2022, China's imports of iron ore and its concentrates were 91.24 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 3.2%. From January to July, China's cumulative imports of iron ore and its concentrates reached 626.82 million tons, a cumulative decrease of 3.4%.

Due toweak demand, both imported iron ore and domestic iron ore production have declined. Despite various policy supports, domestic iron ore production has not been effectively released.

However, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, from January to July, national fixed asset investment in the mining industry grew by 8.3%, with fixed asset investment in the black metal mining and selection industry growing by 59.2%, making it the highest investment growth in the mining industry, expanding by 49 percentage points compared to the same period last year.
In the near future, super-large mines such as Longxin Mining, Daitai Gou Iron Mine, and Macheng Iron Mine will be developed in an orderly manner. After the release of domestic iron ore production, from "being choked" to "arm wrestling," the revival of domestic iron ore is quietly beginning!
Waiting for the flowers to bloom! The road to the revival of domestic iron ore has quietly begun, from being stuck in the neck to breaking the wrist!
Waiting for the flowers to bloom!
