On August 18, the website of the Inner Mongolia Natural Resources Department reported that the Inner Mongolia Geological Survey Institute has undertaken the "Investigation and Evaluation of Diamond Mines in the Central Inner Mongolia North China Craton" project, which has discovered kimberlite for the first time in the Baiyun Obo area of North China. This is of great significance for the deep research of diamonds and super-large rare earth mines in the Baiyun Obo area. It is understood that the institute has conducted nearly two years of geological surveys along field routes, low-altitude drone magnetic measurements, controlled source high-power depth measurements, and extensive sampling, identifying three kimberlite bodies (groups) on the surface in the Baiyun Obo area of Baotou City, Inner Mongolia. These kimberlite bodies are distributed in a northeast direction, and based on geophysical inversion work, there may be tubular distributions that require further drilling for deep verification. In addition, staff members indicated that part of the kimberlite on the surface of the Baiyun Obo area appears in soil yellow, yellow-green, and gray-brown soil-like forms, while another part has good exposure of the bedrock, appearing in angular gravel-like forms.

The announcement shows that the mine is located in Maozi Village, Xinan Town, Haiyang City, Shandong Province, with the mine name being the Haiyang Maozi North Mine for building sandstone, covering an area of 0.748 square kilometers. Within the mine area, the total resource amount of building stone materials is 153.601 million tons. Among them, the resource amount of building sandstone is 127.792 million tons, and the resource amount of building andesite is 25.809 million tons.
