The center covers an area of 4,200 square meters and has various specialized laboratories, including a geotechnical laboratory, rock mechanics laboratory, rock mineral analysis room, mining equipment testing laboratory, cultural relic protection laboratory, environmental testing laboratory, a static tensile testing laboratory for large deformation anchor cables with negative Poisson's ratio, an indoor physical simulation laboratory for open-pit mining dump sites (debris flow), a tailings pond, and a remote monitoring and information release center for geological disasters.
The Liaoning Nonferrous Experimental Center aims for technological innovation and focuses on building a multidisciplinary integration platform of "Big Geology +". The center has independently designed large-scale coarse particle soil compression and shear testing equipment, with a maximum particle size of 100 mm, solving the problem of determining mechanical parameters for the stability analysis of large dump slopes, filling a gap in this field domestically. The newly introduced large DNYS-100 rock triaxial testing machine, large rock direct shear testing machine, and rock permeability testing machine are advanced among similar products in the country, consolidating the center's research foundation in the geotechnical field. The "Northeast Center" established by the experimental center aims to conduct indoor tests and field application research on the static characteristics of NPR constant resistance large deformation anchor cables based on disaster topics such as landslides and debris flows, achieving integrated control goals for regional geological disaster prevention, reinforcement, monitoring, and early warning.
